# Can I switch a podcast between public, unlisted and private?

Yes. You can switch between public and unlisted yourself. To switch a podcast to or from private, get in touch and we'll do it for you.

### Between public and unlisted

* Go to the **Settings** tab for your podcast and open **RSS Feed**
* Check or uncheck **Make this show's RSS feed unlisted**
* Click **Save Changes**

|| Only team members with Owner or Admin access can change this setting.

When you make a podcast unlisted, it gets a new, hard-to-guess RSS feed URL, and the old public URL stops working. Your listings on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other directories stop updating, and anyone following the old feed in a podcast app won't get new episodes. Share the new unlisted RSS feed with the people you want to listen.

When you make an unlisted podcast public again, it goes back to its public RSS feed, which you can submit to directories.

### To or from private

You can't switch a podcast to or from private from the dashboard. Contact us on Live Chat or at support@transistor.fm, tell us which podcast you'd like to switch, and we'll do it straight away.

**From private to public:**

* All of your private subscribers are removed, and their personal RSS feeds stop working
* Your podcast gets a public RSS feed that you can submit to Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other directories

**From public to private:**

* Your public RSS feed stops working, so your listings on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other directories stop updating, and listeners following it in podcast apps won't get new episodes
* You'll need to add the people you want as private subscribers, and they'll each get their own RSS feed
