# How to use the Unlisted podcasts feature

###### Unlisted Podcasts _(previously known as Basic Private Podcasts)_

We released a new version of our private podcasts feature, called Enhanced Private Podcasts. 
However, you can still use the simpler unlisted version, this provides a single RSS feed that is hidden from public podcast directories:

###### How to create an unlisted podcast feed:

* In your Transistor account click the green **Add a Show** button
* Click on **Create a New Podcast**
* Go to the **Settings** tab of the podcast
* Select the **RSS Feed** header menu 
* Click the box that says: **Make this show's RSS Feed unlisted**.
* Click **Save changes** at the bottom.

You can use this feature if you don’t want the feed to be discoverable on the web (or in podcast apps). Only those you share your feed with will be able to listen to the podcast in their podcast player.

###### How to listen to an unlisted feed in a podcast app?

You'll need to let your subscribers have the unlisted feed. They'll copy and paste the feed into their chosen podcast app. 
Here are a couple of examples of how to add an unlisted feed into two popular podcast apps. 

**YouTube Music App - Android Users**

* Click on **Library** at the bottom of the app screen
* At the top of the screen, click on **Podcast**
* In the bottom right corner, click **Add Podcast**
* Select the **Add a podcast by RSS feed** option
* Paste the unlisted podcast feed into the box
* Click on **Add**
* The podcast is then added to your podcast library
* Note: it can take several minutes for the show to become available. 

**Apple Podcasts App - Apple Users**

* Click the **Library** tab at the bottom of the app screen
* Click the three dots menu **...** in the upper right corner
* Select the **Add a Show by URL** option
* Paste the unlisted podcast feed into the box
* Click on **Follow**
* The podcast is then added to your podcast library.
