How to edit and correct an AI transcript?
Getting to know the AI Transcript Editor
Transistor now has AI Transcription. The transcript editor uses these terms and has these functions:
1. Cards - Cards are an area of the transcript that are highlighted green as the audio plays.
2. Paragraph - The block of text within an individual card
3. Speaker Labels - The name of the active speaker. Speaker labels can be edited or re-assigned to be another speaker.
4. Active Word Field - An individual word highlighted by a blue box with the cursor in it, ready for editing
5. Timestamp - The start point for that paragraph
6. Move Up Button - Allows you to move sections of text into the prior card above
7. Split Paragraph Button - Starts a new paragraph below from the selected point in the sentence.
8. Save Changes Button - You must remember to save the changes to your transcript each time you make edits
9. Preview Button - Allows you to view or download all five formats of transcript
10. Reprocess Transcript Button - Re-transcribes the episode. For when the audio file has been changed. Reprocessing uses credits
11. Delete Transcript Button - Removes the associated transcript from that episode.
12. Delete Card Icon - A red trash can icon that can delete an entire paragraph
13. Play Buttons - The large play button at the top will play the whole episode. Each timestamp has a play button to hear that section.

AI Transcription: How to fix words and paragraphs?
How do I fix words in a transcript?
Click on the specific word you want to edit. You'll see the word highlighted with a blue box and the cursor will appear. You can edit the text as normal. Remember to save changes to your transcript regularly when making edits.
How do I delete a word in a transcript?
Click on the specific word you want to delete. You'll see the word highlighted with a blue box and the cursor will appear. You can press backspace to delete the word entirely. Remember to save changes to your transcript regularly when making edits.
How do I split a paragraph?
If two speakers are combined into one paragraph click on the first word of what should be the new paragraph and click the Split Paragraph button. That will push that segment of text below into a new paragraph that can then be labelled correctly.
How do I combine a paragraph?
If you have two paragraphs that you wish to combine into one, select the last word from the lower paragraph and use the Move Up button. The entire paragraph should be added to the paragraph above.
AI Transcription: How to correct and re-assign speakers?
How do I correct a speaker's name?
Click on a speaker label for that person and the cursor will appear. Correct their name and it will also correct all speaker labels for that same person. Only use this when a speaker's name is spelled incorrectly. Do not rename speaker labels by typing if a paragraph belongs to a different speaker. Use the re-assign option instead.
If the AI misattributes a speaker, how do I assign a different speaker?
Click on the incorrect speaker label and a blue button with three dots will appear. Click the blue button and a list of other speakers from that episode will display. Select the correct speaker for that paragraph. It will only re-assign that paragraph and no other parts of the transcript are affected.
AI Transcription: Audio Recording Recommendations
Here are some tips we recommend you consider when recording your audio that can help your transcripts and speaker labelling be more accurate.
Each speaker should clearly introduce themselves at the start of the episode. This helps whoever is labelling speakers in the transcript to be able to identify each person from the audio alone and can label them accordingly.
Hosts and guests should avoid overlapping speech where possible. This can make the transcript editing process more complex.
Use a high quality microphone and avoid any background noise.
Try to enunciate and pronounce words clearly to avoid any misinterpretation of words due to accents.
