How do I add a transcript to my episode?

There are two ways to add a transcript to an episode: have Transistor transcribe it for you, or upload one you already have. Either way, start from the episode's Transcripts tab. The episode needs to be saved first.

Click Transcribe this episode. It uses minutes from your transcription add-on, and every new account gets 60 free minutes to try it.

Upload your own transcript


  • Click Upload a Transcript
  • Upload a transcript file in SRT, VTT, TXT or JSON format, or paste your transcript as plain text
  • Click Create Transcript


Your transcript is then published on a transcript page for the episode and linked in your RSS feed, just like one Transistor creates. Here's an example transcript page.


Some apps only accept certain formats. Apple Podcasts, for example, uses VTT or SRT. See Which podcast apps support transcripts?
