How to add a new episode to your podcast
To create a new episode:
- Go to your podcast's Overview (or Episodes) tab
- Click the green New Episode button
- Fill in the episode details
- Click Save and publish now, or schedule it for later
Episode details
Field | Description |

Episode Title | The name of your episode as it will appear in podcast apps. |
Media File | Drag and drop your file into the box, or click click to upload. We accept MP4, MOV, MP3, M4A, WAV and AIFF files up to 2 GB. If you upload something other than an MP3, we'll convert it to MP3 for you after it uploads. |
Author | Leave this blank to use your show's default author. |
Keywords | Comma-separated keywords for this episode. |
Season Number and Episode Number | We'll fill these in for you based on your last episode. Normal episodes should have an episode number. Trailer and Bonus episodes can have an empty number. |
Episode Artwork (optional) | If you add artwork here it replaces your podcast artwork for this episode only. JPG, PNG or WEBP up to 15 MB, 3000×3000px recommended. |
Episode Show Notes / Description | Your episode description. A shortened version is used as the episode summary in podcast apps. You can use the placeholder tags below the editor (like |
Alternate Episode URL (optional) | If you'd rather point listeners to a page on your own website instead of your Transistor share page, add the URL here. |
Episode contains explicit content | Check this if the episode has explicit language or content. |
YouTube Video URL (Optional) | Add a link to the YouTube version of this episode and we'll embed it on your episode share page and website. |
Episode Transcripts | Transcripts can be added once the episode has been saved. |
People | Assign hosts and guests to this episode. You can manage your people from the People tab. |
How should we handle chapter markers? | Leave this on Use the chapters embedded in the audio file if your editing software already adds chapters. Choose Create chapters manually to add them yourself. |
Publishing your episode
Under Publishing Date you have three options:
- Publish right now – Click Save and publish now and your episode will be added to your RSS feed straight away.
- Scheduled publish date – Pick a date and time (in your show's timezone), then click Save and schedule publishing. We'll publish the episode for you at that time.
- Save as a draft – Saves the episode without publishing it. You can come back and publish it any time from the Episodes tab.
Once your episode is published, it can take up to 24 hours to appear in Apple Podcasts. Spotify and most other apps will pick it up sooner.
