How can I see Apple's podcast analytics?
Apple shows its own analytics for listening in the Apple Podcasts app. You'll find them in Apple Podcasts Connect once your podcast is claimed there. Because Apple runs the player, it can report things Transistor can't see from downloads, like how long people listen and how much of each episode they hear.
How to see your Apple analytics
- Claim your podcast in Apple Podcasts Connect, if you haven't already. If you submitted your podcast to Apple through Transistor, you'll need to do this first: see How do I claim my podcast in Apple Podcasts Connect?
- Sign in to Apple Podcasts Connect with the Apple account that manages your podcast and head to the Analytics tab
- Choose your podcast to see its analytics
What Apple shows
- Followers: people following your show
- Listeners: people who listened to or watched your show
- Engaged Listeners: people who listened to or watched at least 20 minutes or 40% of an episode
- Plays: how many times people pressed play
- Time Listened: total listening time across all listeners
- Average Consumption: for each episode, how much of it the average listener played
- Top Countries/Regions and Top Cities
For full definitions, see Apple's Analytics guide.
How do Apple's analytics compare with Transistor's?
Transistor's analytics count downloads from every podcast app, including Apple Podcasts, so the numbers won't match Apple's.
For what's in Transistor's analytics, see What does each section of the Analytics tab show?
For why the numbers differ, see Why are my stats in Transistor different from Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube?
