Why hasn't my new episode shown up in podcast apps yet?

When you publish an episode, Transistor adds it to your RSS feed straight away. People can listen right away on your podcast website, share pages and embed players.


Podcast apps like Apple Podcasts and Spotify work differently. Each one checks your feed on its own schedule and picks up new episodes when it does. Most apps pick up a new episode within a few hours these days, but Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other platforms say it can take up to 24 hours. So if your episode isn't in an app yet, that's normal. Scheduled episodes work the same way: if your episode goes live at 9 am, each app still finds it the next time it checks your feed.

If it still hasn't shown up after 24 hours


  • Apple Podcasts: if you've claimed your podcast, you can refresh your RSS feed from Apple Podcasts Connect. Otherwise, contact Apple Podcasts support, include your RSS feed URL, and ask them to refresh your feed.
  • Spotify and other apps: get in touch with us and we'll take a look.


Spotify has been strict about removing episodes with copyrighted content, including music and audiobooks. If an episode is missing on Spotify, Spotify may have sent us a takedown notice about it, and we can search for it for you.
