How do I use Transistor with Zapier?
Zapier connects Transistor to thousands of other apps, so you can automate tasks without writing code. For example, you can:
- Add someone to your private podcast when they join your membership platform, and remove them if they cancel
- Post to Slack when a new episode is published
- Create a blog post for each new episode
What Transistor can do in Zapier
Triggers (start a Zap when something happens in Transistor):
- Episode Published
- New Episode Created
- New Subscriber Created
- Subscriber Removed
Actions (do something in Transistor):
- Create Subscriber
- Remove Subscriber
The subscriber triggers and actions are for private podcasts. They're most often used to sell access through a membership platform.

How to set it up
- Log in to Zapier, or sign up for an account
- Create a new Zap and choose Transistor.fm as the trigger or action app
- Connect your Transistor account with your API key, from your account page under API Access
- Choose your show where asked. Your show ID is also on the Integrations tab of your podcast
- If it asks for a numeric show ID, here's how to find your numeric show ID
- Finish setting up your Zap, test it and turn it on
Making other API calls
The Transistor triggers and actions in Zapier cover new and published episodes and private podcast subscribers. To do anything else the Transistor API can do, like creating, updating or publishing episodes, you can send your own API requests from a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier, using its Custom Request action.
Add your API key as an x-api-key header, and use the API docs to set up each request.
